Musical Theatre Dance--Session 1
Musical Theatre Dance--Session 1
Service Description
Learn essential tips for tackling choreography in auditions and classes, along with a breakdown of common musical theater dance steps that frequently appear in auditions. This workshop focuses on building a strong foundation, so you can execute movement clearly and with ease. Our dance classes focus on technique and choreography in the musical theatre style. Work with our instructors in a safe and supportive environment. Keeping class sizes small, we can tailor the class to all levels. This class is designed to help actors approach dance with confidence. This class is taught by Trixi Anne Agyao on Mondays and Sierra Goria on Wednesdays in Session 1 (instructor availability may shift week by week and/or in session 2). TRIXI'S BIO: Trixi Anne Agyao is a seasoned dancer, choreographer, and movement educator with years of experience performing and creating in professional dance spaces. She has studied under both local and national artists, including Broadway’s Roxanne Carrasco (Chicago) and Jacques Heim, the choreographer behind Cirque du Soleil’s KÀ. As a choreographer, she brings storytelling to life through dynamic movement, and as an instructor, she’s passionate about helping dancers and actors unlock their full expressive potential. Now expanding her craft into acting, Trixi blends her deep understanding of physicality and emotion to create compelling performances on screen and stage. SIERRA'S BIO: Sierra is a graduate from San Diego State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. She’s worked at Legoland California since 2019 as a singer and dancer, and participated in the 2019 Broadway San Diego Awards. Sierra has taught both adult and youth musical theater dance classes around San Diego including at San Diego Musical Theatre (Prep with the Pros/MT Mashup Camp), Coronado Junior Arts League (MT Summer Camp), and Project Performer (Matilda Jr.). Some of Sierra’s most memorable performance credits include GREASE (Ensemble/Rizzo U.S. performed) [Vista Moonlight Amphitheater], Steel Pier (Mick’s Pick) [SDSU], and Cabaret (Rosie) [SDSU]. She is extremely passionate about sharing her love of the arts within the community, and is excited about continuing to pursue more theatrical opportunities within both teaching and performing!
